Why I started this site: This site started 20+ years ago as an idea and a finger puppet—before any Eons were added—I used to play pretend with my friend. Back then, I had all the same favorites from the first generation as everyone else, plus Rapidash and all the Eeveelutions. I wanted there to be another evolution who could change into any of the Eeveelutions by changing the color of the stars on its back. Thus, Stareon was born.
The idea started to take more of a shape with my little cousin by the time Espeon and Umbreon came around. We toyed around with various looks before the design you see today which I came up with thanks to help from my partner.
However, it was back circa 2004, with my cousin, that we talked about making a fansite for Pokemon because of our mutual love of it, and I suggested the name Stareon's Hideout, featuring Stareon and the Eons. I came up with the background lore and used the Eeveelution names for the mascots on the pages based on the characters that were in my Ruby game at the time. My cousin contributed by donating their artwork and sometimes writing before parting ways. I've worked on this site on and off since.
My Hope: I want this to always be a kid-friendly site where everyone is welcome. I am big into learning and creativity, and I love seeing new and old visitors.
I don't get to be on here constantly because I have two boys I am raising with my partner. I am a chronically ill, audhd, bipolar adult with lots of real life responsibilities (and pets!) Nevertheless, I never stop being a Pokemon fan. I love for visitors to interact with the site, leave comments and suggestions, and I hope to get around to add more as my kids grow up.
My older audhd son loves Pokemon. It's his special interest, and he draws his own Pokemon every day. I hope that maybe one day, he will take over this site when I am too old to use a computer or phone anymore. Will we even have fansites in the future? I hope!
I hope you learned something about me, and this will help you as you navigate through the site now and in the future!
